morning commute

Got a little interesting this morning when Graham and i pulled into the back yard without actually noticing the two large moose hanging out. Needless to say, we had to vacate the area immediately. No need for further coffee after that.

There's the little one hiding behind Graham's snow fort.

Magic Carpet Craziness

Leo was very excited to head to Girdwood and do some skiing on the magic carpet.

This is Graham and his friends, Nora and Schaffer. They were excellent hosts and here they are having treats apres' ski.

Alyeska and Girdwood have lots of snow this year.

Leo was running around on the magic carpet while Graham and mom did some laps....
Graham did awesome and was ready to go higher up the mountain after his 5th attempt. I don't know about his pizza wedge for stopping, but his french fry technique for going straight down the slope was great. Here he and mom demonstrate perfect french fry technique.

Leo and Graham dream of heading up higher on the mountain. It won't be long the way these two are going.

ahhh, these mushrooms are very fun to play with and comfortable to boot.

more winter fun

More fun from last weekends iditarod sled dog race ceremonial start. Lots of snow and it keeps on coming.

The snow piles are higher than Leo.

This is Graham hanging out with a bunch of neighborhood kids, with a birds eye view of the dog races. They had a lot of fun on those slopes.

Leo comes flying in.

Fur Rondy (Iditarod) winter fun

The ceremonial start of the iditarod travels past our house via the trail system nearby. Although it looks like mom and the boys were all alone on the trail, the opposite was actually the case. Tons of fans tailgating and having a good time with over 60 mushers participating in the last great race.
